For the first time in 4 1/2 years, CYS is back to facilitating in-person mediation trainings. The Community Mediator Institute (CMI) is a 30-hour training series focused on building the essential skills of a mediator needed to communicate effectively when helping others to resolve conflict. Whether there is a conflict between neighbors, family members, or an issue in the community, CMI trainees will be equipped with the techniques and tools needed to safely de-escalate and resolve conflict between individuals and groups.
The CMI training series started in mid-May, spanning five full days, and will conclude with its final two sessions this weekend. The sessions are hosted at Chuco's Justice Center and includes participants who are truly committed to serving as peacebuilders in their community.
