HAPPY RESTORATIVE JUSTICE WEEK

ree

Restorative Justice Week is an annual event that takes place during the third week of November. It is an opportunity to:

  • Reflect on how restorative justice can be applied to daily challenges

  • Highlight and discuss the most recent achievements of restorative justice

  • Raise awareness on restorative justice, its values and its principles contribute to social change (1).

Centinela Youth Services likes to take this time to celebrate what it prioritizes all year long; which is to repair harm, strengthen relationships, and build safer, and connected communities. During this week, organizations and restorative justice partners host events, workshops, and discussions that highlight restorative practices. This year's theme “From Question to Principle: Embedding Restorative Justice in Human Rights” serves as a reminder that caring, empathy, and open conversations are basic human rights that must be accessible to everyone.
