The City of Vernon’s CommUNITY Fund provides financial support to organizations like CYS that promote the positive social development of children, youth, and families residing in Vernon and surrounding communities.
Recently, CYS was the recipient of a generous $15,000 grant from the CommUNITY Fund. This support will help CYS develop and expand its services to the city Vernon and neighboring communities. Current expansion plans call for partnering with the Vernon Police Department to divert youth from law enforcement involvement to restorative justice, and with other community-based organizations and local schools to provide these and other services. CYS thanks the City of Vernon’s CommUNITY Fund for its generous award. We look forward to a long partnership with the city’s growing and ever-evolving city and community institutions.
