DIVERSION PROGRAM IN ACTION
Our youth justice diversion program literally diverts kids from being booked into the juvenile justice system, or expelled from school. That option can be the difference between a young person having a productive life that benefits society vs. a life that's forever damaged by a criminal record.
Both the police and the judiciary are strong supporters of diversion...and for good reason. Versus traditional incarceration, diversion is astonishingly successful...

Restorative justice and counseling. We keep kids in school and out of the justice system.
CARS - COUNSELING AND RESOURCE SERVICES
We connect kids who have not committed a crime, but are having a tough time, with needed third-party services and help them navigate the process - from mentoring and social skills training, to academic tutoring, job training, and placement.
Volunteers are the heart and soul of our work.
EVERYCHILD RESTORATIVE JUSTICE CENTER
Clinical case management providing intensive support for referred youth, including home and school visits and hands-on support for applicable treatments...ranging from anger management, to academic tutoring, substance abuse treatment, and gang intervention.
VORS - VICTIM-OFFENDER RESTITUTION SERVICES
Mediation and restitution facilitation between youth who have committed a criminal offense and the victim of their offense. Evidence-based and recognized as a national model for restorative justice, VORS mediations are the central component of our diversion program.
FARS - FAMILIES ABLE TO RESOLVE SITUATIONS
Mediation to help families who are having trouble with communication or behavior resolve their conflict through enhanced communication skills.
